Governor Resigned?!

NY Governor Eliot Spitzer has announced today that he will be resigning as The Governor of New York. It will become effective at noon on Monday, March 17. Lt. Gov. David A. Paterson will be sworn in to replace him.
Spitzer said at a news conference in NYC, "I cannot allow for my private failings to disrupt the people's work."
He went on to say, "Over the course of my public life, I have insisted - I believe correctly - that people take responsibility for their conduct. I can and will ask no less of myself. For this reason, I am resigning from the office of governor."
